I Would Like to Understand the Desktop Users Chart

Applies to: Nerdio for Azure (NFA) and Nerdio Private Cloud (NPC) accounts

On the Home page you will see a chart titled "Desktop Users - Last 30 days". This chart strives to answer the question - "how many desktops are being served up?". This is important information for two reasons -

  1.   It's a direct indicator of Azure compute resources costs you will see on your next Azure bill
  2.   It's an indicator of Nerdio adoption and the subsequent support demands you can expect

Let's look at an example:

In this case you can see the change in the number of desktops being served over time. The green line is the number of VDI/personal desktop users, the blue line is the number of RDS/pooled desktop users and the black line is a sum of the two numbers.

Note: Professional accounts don't support VDI/personal desktops.
