How Do I Change the Name of a Server?

Applies to Nerdio for Azure (NFA). Does not apply to Nerdio Private Cloud (NPC).

Query

Does Nerdio allow changing server names through Nerdio Admin Portal (NAP) without disrupting anything? For example, can I change the name of the file server from FS01 to something else? If yes, can it be done the standard way through Windows system properties, and would the new name be reflected in the Nerdio Admin Portal (NAP)?

Resolution

Unfortunately, Azure does not support changing names of VMs once they are created. Hence Nerdio doesn't allow you to change server names through the Nerdio Admin Portal (NAP).
