Do You Support Two Factor Authentication to Log in to Nerdio Desktop?

Applies to: Nerdio For Azure (NFA) Enterprise, Nerdio Private Cloud (NPC) Performance & Enterprise.

Yes, Nerdio supports two-factor authentication for all its Nerdio for Azure (NFA) Enterprise customers and Nerdio Private Cloud (NPC) Performance and Enterprise customers.

Nerdio users that provide their phone number (in the Mobile number field shown below) will be automatically enrolled for two-factor authentication.

Nerdio Tip
  • Nerdio supports international phone numbers

To register your mobile number, click the ‘MOBILE NUMBER’ drop down and select your country. Nerdio will populate the corresponding country code and prompt you to enter your mobile number next to it. You may incur minimal text charges as per your phone billing plan.

Steps for two-factor authentication

Launch your RDP file (NFA customers) or VMware Horizon client (NPC customers), connect to your Nerdio desktop and enter your username and password.

This is the first level of authentication.

Once the system verifies your login id /password, you will be prompted to enter a passcode on the subsequent screen.

Note: For security reasons, the passcode is generated dynamically every time you log in to your Nerdio desktop and will be sent to your registered mobile number. Typically, the passcode is a combination of letters and numbers and is valid for a set time period.

Enter the passcode from your mobile number onto the next screen as shown below:

The passcode is the second level of authentication which adds another layer of security to your Nerdio account.
